Stand and Deliver
"Stand & Deliver"
is an inter-faith volunteer program established in 2001 in cooperation with "Partners In Education" and The Lawrence Public Schools. The purpose of the program
is to provide an academic mentoring experience for Lawrence High School 9th grade students to help improve their MCAS scores and academic achievement levels.
Undie Sundays
Delegates from member churches began a
series of special programs in 1997 when it was learned that many Lawrence
children did not have socks. Socks were collected by Delegates of the Council
and distributed by various agencies throughout the city. In 1998, it was
children’s underwear and diapers with over 10,000 items collected and
distributed to those in need. This has now become a traditional outreach for
our Delegates and member churches and the drive is held during Lent each
year.
