Ecumenical Programs

A number of ecumenical events are offered throughout the year. During lent, a midday service is offered at a member church in the greater Lawrence community. These popular services also offer a fellowship luncheon. Similar services may be offered during the year to commemorate events such as the National Day of Prayer or the Week of Christian Unity.

Interfaith Program

The National Day of Prayer, always the first Thursday of May, is the only interfaith service held in greater Lawrence. At this service, representatives of each of the major religions and denominations participate in a noon-time service usually followed by a light luncheon.

A Week Of Prayer For Christian Unity

The Council uses the Week of Christian Unity to also gather in prayer for the life of the community. This event is usually held in January and includes a Continental Brekfast.

Stand and Deliver

"Stand & Deliver" is an inter-faith volunteer program established in 2001 in cooperation with "Partners In Education" and The Lawrence Public Schools. The purpose of the program is to provide an academic mentoring experience for Lawrence High School 9th and 10th grade students to help them improve their MCAS scores and academic achievement levels.
